What Should I include in my Wedding Flat Lay / Detail Photos?

Haley had all her flat lay items in a box for me, including a purple ring box, 2 ribbons, & 2 wax seals:

Your flat lay photos are a chance to feature anything that is significant to you! I ask my brides to have a bridesmaid gather flat lay items into a bag or box, and hand it to me when I arrive. (Brides: delegate, delegate, delegate!) 

Flat-Lay Photo Items: 

• Engagement Ring & Wedding Bands
• Bouquet & Flower Trimmings from the Florist
• Hand-Written Vows/Love Letters
• Wedding Shoes 
• Jewelry - bride's earrings, necklace, bracelets
• Veil & hairpieces
• Invitation Suite (the invitation, envelope, rsvp, save-the date, ceremony schedule, menu, anything printed for guests at the wedding!) *This is the most forgotten item on this list!*​
• Heirloom Pieces (items from the important people in your life)
• Ring Box - generally photographers will have a neutral color (cream/champagne) ring box, so if you're wanting a specific color, please include in your box of flat-lay items! This goes for ribbons too - if you'd like to include a certain color ribbon in your flat lay photos, please include!

​From here, it is your photographer's job to artfully arrange & capture these significant pieces for you. Please allow them the time to do so (30+minutes)! If flat lay photos are NOT a priority for you, please communicate this to your photographer! This is not included in my 6-hour package *unless specifically discussed & planned for in your timeline!

Pro-Tip to Make The Best Use of Your Photo-Coverage Time: Assign a bridesmaid to hang all the dresses before the photographer arrives! ​Windows, door frames, and clutter-free areas are ideal!
