Newborn Lifestyle Session FAQs

Hey Emily! Do you take Newborn Pictures? 

I get this question a lot, and the answer is not a simple one! I DO shoot Newborn Sessions, & they take place in the comfort of your own home! I capture precious & natural interactions between Momma, Baby, Daddy, & Brother & Sister! Here's usually how the conversation goes:

When do we schedule our Newborn Lifestyle Session?

We try to schedule the session within the first 2 weeks of your little one's arrival, often on a weekday morning! You should try to schedule your session at least a month in advance! 

What parts of my House need to be clean for this?

We will take the pictures in the rooms with the best light! We usually will take some in the nursery & on mom & dad's bed. If your living room has a good amount of natural light, we can shoot there too! 

How is this different than a Studio Newborn Session?

A studio will provide you with gorgeous pictures of your sweet bean wrapped in beautiful fabrics, posed with props & backdrops. I bring nothing to the session other than myself & my gear. You're welcome to swaddle your baby & put her in a couple of different outfits, but I won't be dressing  or posing her alone.  

​My focus is on the family and capturing your connection & love, so the pictures I take of Baby will be in the arms of a loved one. OK, sounds good so far! So what is included in the price?

I will come to your home, and I'll be there for about an hour. I'll post a sneak peek in the next few days, and an online gallery of 50+ images will be delivered to your inbox in 2 weeks.  You will be able to download high-resolution images as well as order prints, albums, canvases, etc. directly from my gallery site. Your online gallery will be active for 3 months before expiring, so you'll have plenty of time to download your images and complete any orders!

Be sure to check the "Prices" tab at the top of this page for current Family Session pricing. I require a 35% nonrefundable deposit to secure the date, and I'll send that to you through Square where you'll be able to pay via CC!

Mommas, this one's for you. I KNOW that two weeks after birthing a child, you're not necessarily going to be feeling great. You're exhausted. Your insides are recovering. Your hair is greasy and smells faintly of breastmilk. Your stomach is stretched and flabby. You might catch a shower every few days. You haven't had a full night's sleep. Thoughts are cloudy. Things are forgotten. Oh. Time to feed again? Hard Truth: Your phone might be full of adorable pictures of baby & daddy, but the ones daddy takes of you just...well...aren't great. Hubby just doesn't seem to understand angles & framing & it honestly just hurts your feelings in the end.
